STATE HOUSE/REMOTELY – Representative Nathan Carlow was appointed to serve on the Joint Standing Committee on Energy, Utilities, and Technology (“EUTC”).
In a statement to the press, Rep. Carlow said that his “appointment to this committee will allow me to proactively fight for broadband, sustainable energy, and power companies that work for Maine people.”
The EUTC processes energy legislation including; 1) Energy resources, efficiency and conservation; 2) Insulation; 3) Maine’s electric industry, including supply, transmission and distribution; 4) Maine’s natural gas industry; 5) Maine’s telecommunications industry, including mobile, telephone, Internet, broadband and cable television services; 6) E-9-1-1; 7) Water and sewer utilities, including district charters; 8)The Public Utilities Commission; 9) The Office of the Public Advocate; 10) The Governor’s Office of Independence and Security; and 11) The Efficiency Maine Trust.
Rep. Carlow was pleased by this appointment and is looking forward to working on a bipartisan basis with colleagues on the EUTC.
